Product Review: Trader Joe's Mac & Cheese Bites

We can't always eat out or prepare everything fresh.  Good quality frozen products could make sense to accommodate one's busy schedule.  For snacks, it even makes more sense since you wouldn't have to create a whole batch.

Mac & Cheese is a perennial American favorite. At one time in their lives, anybody who experienced a normal childhood would have liked it or else they would have been beaten up by their peers at grade school.  Well, some of us are still a kid inside.  Mac & Cheese? Great.  Breaded fried Mac & Cheese? Better!

TJ's Mac & Cheese bites is made of balled-up breaded elbow macaroni with cheddar and mozzarella cheese. Hey, two is better one. It is a frozen product and you just need to oven it for roughly 15 minutes.

Flavor profile: soft elbow macaroni.  Cheddar dominates in palate and nose while mozzarella plays a supporting role in creating more creaminess.  Thin breading creates delicious coarseness texture that contrasts both the mac and the cheese.  There is a still trace of oil and stabilizer taste and a touch of freezer aroma but nothing offensive (hey, it is still a frozen product).  On a frozen product scale, which is different than my restaurant food scale, this easy to prepare comfort food is at 4 stars.
